We are experiencing degraded service to our London based servers (web and email) as a result of some packet-loss. All servers are running correctly and the issue, which has been under extensive investigation all day, is related to the Ethernet connection between our core network in Telehouse and our backbone link through Mistral. Fibre-Ethernet transceivers have been replaced and the packet loss has reduced. The next stage is for our core router to be replaced which work is in hand at the time of this update (2200hrs 28-11-07).
Clients may have experienced delays in receiving or sending emails and web site performance is reduced. However, the connection is not "down" and retries should be successful.
UPDATE - Router replacement was completed at 2310hrs and tests indicate that the packet loss issue is fully resolved.
