Buying Leila Berg's Books
The God Stories, Flickerbook, My Dog Sunday, and Reading and Loving are available as explained below.
We decided to make books available to you from Leila's web site directly in two ways. One is on-line direct from Amazon.com, the biggest bookshop in the world, which only operates on-line, and the other is by email from a very small,lively, and beautiful 17th-century bookshop in Leila's home village of Wivenhoe, Essex.
Amazon is taking orders for Flickerbook and The God Stories (see below). It offers an amazingly efficient service including discounts, optional gift-wrapping, fast delivery, secure on-line payment, and the biggest possible selection of other books. Also, every purchase you make at Amazon after entering from this site (but not if you return later in some other way) results in a commission to Leila (15% on her own books, 5% on other purchases), which is welcome.
On the other hand, there is nothing like the local bookshop where you can walk in and browse in the wonderful and evocative physical reality of books, and we very warmly support our local one here. You can email Ginny or Les at Wivenhoe Bookshop directly or phone them on 01206 82 4050, and you get a magnificent and of course very personal service. And as well as Flickerbook and The God Stories, Wivenhoe Bookshop has the only children's book of Leila's still available, My Dog Sunday (£4.99), and also a few copies of Reading And Loving (£9.99). These are not available new anywhere else at all so far as we know. Prices exclude postage.
