An early 19th C. engraving of St. Barnabas
The west end of the church was demolished in 1829 as unsafe and uneconomical to repair.
Windows in the west end were Early English, from the 13th century, whilst those in the remaining east end - the present nave - are in the Decorated style, dating from the 14th C.
